Sony has recently announced its plans to release a new digital video Walkman. The new Walkman series will go on sale in Europe around April. Sony is coming up with three new models in Europe: NW-A808, NW-A806 and NW-A805 for its new video Walkman series. The new series, which differentiate from 2G bytes, 4G bytes and 8G bytes, would be comparable to Apple’s Video iPods.
According to the article, the NW-A805 will cost about US $237. I’m not surprised by this price as at all! Sony has always had pricey products. The article goes on to say that the iPod has a larger screen, but is bulkier and heavier than the new Sony Walkman. Should I turn my iPod for the new Walkman? The Walkman brings back memories! I think back to my Sony Walkman cassette tape player, which by the way still works!
After reading this article, I thought about how well Sony’s digital video Walkman will do compared to Apple’s version. It also made me think about Dell’s Digital Jukebox, which seemed to have disappeared in the light of Apple’s iPod. With the domination of Apple in portable devices, let’s hope my new Dell phone creation will top Apple’s iPhone!

So this is great, you have no idea how this blog brought back the memories. I understand completely when you say that this reminds you of the "good 'ol days."
Honestly, with technology you have to understand that any new product is better than the ones that are already on the market for the mere fact that it's new. The younger generation wants the latest fad even if it means asking mom and dad to shell out a couple $100. The cost is the least of their concerns, it's what's cool that matters. Your product can easily be taken in by the new generation.
On a side note, if I had some cash I would definitely be getting the Walkman just because it gives me a little warm fuzzy feeling and takes me back to when I was young and thought tapes were amazing.
